The Apostolic Succession of the Old Catholic Church in Europe (OCCE) derives from Christ, through the Apostles, as progressing from several sacramental sources. Our Apostolic Succession derives from the Roman Catholic Church through the Old Catholic Church of Utrecht, Archbishop Arnold Harris Mathew in London (the Old Roman Catholic Church in the UK) and Archbishop Henry Carmel Carfora, in the United States (the North American Old Roman Catholic Church). Also from the Roman Church through Bishop Carlos Duarte Costa (of Botucatu, Brazil) and Bishop Eduardo Sanchez y Camacho (of Cuidad-Victoria, Mexico).
They also derive from the Syrian Orthodox Church of Antioch by way of the Malankaran Indian Orthodox Church through Archbishop Joseph Renee Vilatte in the United States. In addition, apostolic lines from the Greek and Russian Orthodox Churches are also a part of our sacramental heritage. In a sense, we have become a sacramental convergence of Roman Catholic, Eastern Orthodox and Oriental Orthodox apostolic lineage.
The OCCE does not condone the reprehensible act of sub-conditional consecrations purely for the benefit of "gaining" lines of succession. The mixture of our Apostolic lineage has occurred by accident, that is through co-consecrators of different Churches expressing Communion with each other at the consecration of particular Bishops in our heritage. The OCCE can attest that each and every consecration has occured for the express intention of consecrating a Bishop for a particular ministry and a specific flock.
Following the Roman Catholic line through the Ancient Catholic Church of the Netherlands, which, in Europe, is known as the Catholic Old Diocese of Utrecht by virtue of papal grants given by Blessed Pope Eugene III in 1145 AD and Pope Leo X in 1520 AD, our Succession is as follows -
