The Companions of St John Vianney is a clerical fraternity of seminarians, deacons, priests and bishops desirous to emulate the sacerdotal vocation and example of St John Vianney in their spiritual lives and in the application of their ministry.
The Fraternity's membership, though founded by the OCCE, is open to any Catholic cleric desirous to receive fellowship, fraternal support and ongoing formation in their sacerdotal life and ministry.
The Oratorians of St John Vianney are secular priests living a common life without vows in an Oratory house. The Oratorian vocation is similar to that of the Oratorians of St Philip Neri, except that their particular spirituality is centred on the life and ministry of St John Vianney.
Oratorians voluntarily commit to living in one Oratory foundation for life as brothers and are celibates. The Oratory house is a "shared economy" meaning that all the brothers contribute to the financial sustenance of the community sharing their income and possessions to assist each other in their vocation.
